You mean manpower (MP)?
Sorry, you cant get more.
The aim of the game is not to grow stronger by getting more Mp's, but to gain points through battles. |

WHAT!?
..err that's insane. but then, how well u do depends technically on how much u attack and win, and won't that usually depend on who can get online the most often? plus there's no stable base for power, but rather a system that just shows how well u've done in battles?
so umm.. that means there isn't any sort of solid 'power' in this game? |

when we started to invent this game we wanted to avoid another "master of orion" -clone.
the individual strenght of a player comes from his/her creativity and tactics ( esp. cooperation with other players ).

look at wizard,
he told me, he fought a lot of battles and lost only two of them ( each depending on a program bug that was fixed afterwards)
so he never lost a battle.
on the other hand every newbee has chance to beat an experienced player. otherwise a newbee with 5000 mp has to attack an experienced fleet with 500000 mp - sounds boring.
so its a pluspoint that mp doesnt grow.
just develelop experienced tactics and cooperate with other players and u ll do well.
think of it and show us that u can do it...
(its not only how much but how good u fight - for u get minuspoints on lost battles...)
peace of love. |

Hahaha,
Wizard has just proven your statement about the most active player to be correct.
I always thought so too, as I have been a very active player and ended second last round.
But I think that is a factor you have in all the games.

ok, if u dont want u dont get any tactics...
i am in the game under an other name.
(just between us two: peace of love sounds a little ... well dunno...simple minded ?)
(but thats tactic: allways make the enemy underestimate u. and if u cant win against him - cofuse him)
but i ve got another name, so that there are other players to be attacked in this round...
peace |

Why is it tha I seen fleets that have allot more than 5000 man hours invested in them. They have 10 times the fleat that I have and I have mine maxed and am researching constantly and doing some battles. |

Damn, I saw a fleet somewhere that had a huge number of ships. I'll see if I can dig up the info. |

You know that each ship has its specific price? Fighters cost only 1 mp while cruisers cost 60 mp. The manpower differs some do only have 4800 mp while others have 5100 (even if the admins say it's fair it's a little bit unfair in my opinion). |

Being a Newbie and left holdin the dirty end of the stick (~4900 MP's) and having engaged in atleast 3 battles early on in which the enemy's points totaled more than 5000 I thought there was a way to rais my points too as this point spread can add varriance to the game it can really make it hard on some. I learned later, after those battles that you are stuck with what you get at the start, but...
If when selecting a race you were advised that "This race will have a fixed # of workers randomly generated from x to y. And if each race had a value range of thier own based on the ease and vercitility of thier race fleet in obtaining and ability." A player could make a safer bid at choosing a race, and knowing that you could match against some one with greater MP's that do not increase at any point in the game.
